Proposals — Designed, Not Built¶
Status: Current as an index — verified 2026-08-30.
Everything in this directory is intent. It describes what someone wants the game to be, not what the game is. Each document carries its own status block with the evidence behind that claim.
This directory exists because the August 2026 audit found proposals filed as documentation. The GPT-5.4 card pack was cited as the live card spec; spot-checking twelve of its card names against the codebase found eleven absent entirely.

Lifecycle¶
A proposal leaves this directory in one of two directions:
- Shipped → moves to
docs/official/ordocs/tech/, status becomes Current - Abandoned → moves to
_archive/, with a line inARCHIVE-INDEX.mdsaying why
It does not sit here indefinitely acquiring the authority of documentation. That is the failure this directory was created to stop.
Note on House names¶
These documents predate the 2026-07-03 canon ratification and use the pre-July House names
(Axiom, Syndicate, Censors). Canon is the Axiom, the Syndicate, the Censors. See
story/bible/canon-decisions.md.
